Answering Machine software for DOS?

Someone just gave me a '386 notebook in perfect working order. I also have a need for an answering machine...since I like to recycle/reuse, I am wondering if there is any software out there that would let me use my new treasure as an answering machine.

Don't know of anything for DOS, but there ought to be several Win3.1 things still around. I remember years ago I found a combo sound-card, 14.4 modem, and (non-bootable) SCSI interface card that worked pretty well with Win3.1 and had built-in Voice-Mail capabilities. Hooked up a 2X SCSI CD-Rom to it and it all worked great with WfWG on a 386DX-33...

There were some. What is needed is a modem with audio capabilities. As the previous poster remarked, it would be easier using Windows.
