Reply: (edit)you can try reformatting the drive that linus was on . ie, if linux was on D:, then format D: after booting to dos. You could also go into fdisk and make the partition a dos drive. It would still have to be formatted, though. Mike

Reply: (edit)Was Linux and Windows ME both installed on the same partition? If so try going to www.bootdisk.com, download and create a windows ME bootdisk, boot with the diskette, then issue this command: sys c: a: This should restore the boot files for ME (I assume this is what you want to do) since LILO was removed... Good luck! -Michael

Reply: (edit)thanks for the reply. but my problem is different. i had win me and linux on same hard disk with 7 GB to win me and 3 GB to linux. when i had run fdisk / mbr it boots directly to windows me. now the thing is that when i click on c: it gives info that it has just 7 GB space. since there is no info for 3 GB which was under linux ( created by mandrake linux 8.0 during installation ) what can be done to reclaim the seemingly lost 3 GB ?

Reply: (edit)Oh... ok... Gotcha... So do you want to just scrap the linux partition and use it for something else? If so get ranish partition manager from www.ranish.com and use it to delete the linux partition and create a new one. It's a great program to have in your toolbox. -Michael
