Comment:
I just got a used hard drive with nothing on it but the Windows 98 version of DOS. The only Windows version I had to install was Windows 3.1, so I had to get a DOS 6.22 boot disk to get into it. However, when I use the boot disk, I can only acces my floppy drive and use DOS from there. Does anyone know how to get into the hard drive? I tried typing C:, but it said invalid drive specification. The boot disk has mscdex, so is there a way I am supposed to use that?
Win31 isn't compatable with Win9x DOS versions unless you use the 3xstart patch. To install Win31 on that machine, likely you'd either need the patch or repartition and format using/installing DOS622
