Does anyone know how to get a hard drive to funcion in one of these old things. It uses mfm drives. I installed one, set it up in the cmos, rebooted & it hangs for about 2 minutes then disk error comes up & it boots me to setup. I assumed the drive was bad & picked up another at a thrift store & it did the exact same thing. I think there is something I must be doing wrong.

1. Make sure the cables are on right.
2. Is the drive formatted and made bootable by putting the system files on it? If not, then it will not boot and usually tell you to insert a disk, but on that machine it may do something else. But it will not boot.
