Comment:

Whenever I play videos now on WMP they are much darker. I can adjust the brightness, but that is a pain having to do that each time. Any suggestions on how to get the player to the appropriate brightness that it used to operate at?

Try the following:

In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options.

In the Options dialog box, click the Performance tab.

In the Video Acceleration area, click the Advanced button.

In the Video Acceleration Settings dialog box, under Video Acceleration, clear the 'Use overlays' check box.
