static in sound when playing midi or wav sound files or any sound file except MP3s. place flash drive in laptop and sounds becomes prefect, remove flash drive and static returns. format flash drive so completely free on any hidden files or whatever and still get same resaults. upgraded to WMP 10 with the same resaults. laptop came with WMP 9 pt something. any help would be appreciated.
