Comment:

I created a movie project including sound (by adding an mp3 file to the timeline), by using Windows Movie Maker and it works perfect, as long as you preview it within Windows Movie Maker!

Unfortunately when I choose to save it to my computer or to send it to the web, the audio that it was previously included cannot be heard in the file that comes out when I watch it in Windows Media Player.

What is wrong?

I suspect that Movie Maker uses some non standard audio format. I don't use MM. I tried it and thought it was terrible. Wait for other suggestions, but mine would be to get your hands on a better video editor.

You might want to try the 'free' VirtualDub. It's not my main one but I use it occasionally for AVI/DIVX files and the fact that it's free amazes me.
