I'm having problems with getting my windows media player to open. A message keeps occuring saying "An internal application error has occured." I have tried re-downloading the program from the microsoft windows website but it still did not help because when the download was completed it still had the same message pop up.

Could someone please help me to try and fix it?

It sounds as if some faulty component has not been replaced by the download. Try uninstalling WMP (Control Panel>Add/Remove Software>Windows Components) and then re-installing.
