Hi there
I have a problem that seems to come and go with WMP. It's back again! When I try to play vids in web pages (using firefox latest ver and WMP 11 Latest ver), WMP loads, but doesn't play the video. It conects then stops at 'ready' If I click play it does nothing. When I right click the screen it shows the error message on the menu. THe error message says "Windows Media Player cannot play the file. One or more codecs required to play the file could not be found". I'm using the K Lite codec pack. I tried switching the WMP options in Firefox to "autodetect proxy inweb pages" When I did that WMP doesnt load but I get a "click to downoad plug in message". I click and it says "No suitable plug ins were found. unknown plugin (application/vnd.ms-asf)"
I do suspect I can't play any asf files from prev experience with them. Any help appreciated. Many thanks folks!
Tim

Hi
I have several players and they all work fine - including WMP when I use it as a stand alone player. It's just when WMP opens in a browser that I get problems. The vids that I try to play are embedded in the site. I can't download them and I've tried the right click> properties> highlight file name, cut and past the url into WMP. Then WMP gives me the same codec error message. I suspect it's a codec or configuration issue but I've tried most of the tricks I know and can't get the d**n thing to work. THaks for the suggest
