watching digi camera videos

After taking videos with my digital camera i uploaded them to my pc. I have no problem watching them on the pc but when i copy them to a disk (CD or DVD) i can not play them on my home DVD player. Im sure there is a simple explanation to this but i dont really know enough about computers to fix this my myself.

Many DVD 'players' are only capable of playing DVD format video files. Some of the newer ones are capable of playing a few other formats like DIVX and XVID. Check your DVD player manual.

Not all but some dvd player can play mpeg-4 files, you may find a mpeg-4 capable or something similar on the dvd player.

you may not be finalizing the DVD's, check that out. If they are not finalized they will NOT play on standalone DVD players.
