I having problems trying to convert a number of DVD (VOB) files to WMV format to enable them to be viewed on my PDA.
Whenever i rip a DVD film from the DVD drive to a VOB file (using DVD Decrypter, Smartripper or Rippack), it does the whole rip, but when loaded in the MS WMV encoder), only the first 30-45 seconds get encoded before it stops.
If i load the ripped VOB file into PowerDVD, the slider at the bottom scrolls along displaying the same time scale (30-45 seconds), but when moved scrolls to the appropriate part of the clip and starts counting up again from however many seconds i scrolled to.
The source i'm trying to encode is legitimate and for my own use, so there are no copyright issues.
Any ideas?

You are better to convert from VOB to MPEG2. It's a more universaly accepted format that will play in just about any machine.
I'm not sure which mode you are using with DVD decrypt but I have found that the file mode works the best.
Make sure your BUP and IFO files are present too.

I'm converting to WMV because its the smallest and most convenient way to store stuff for my PDA.
All the files are present on the DVD when it decodes to the HDD, but they still come out as very short files.
