Videos on computer to TV advice

August 27, 2011 at 20:18:29
Specs: Windows 7
I was looking on some ideas on the best way to watch videos on my TV from my computer in the easiest way possible.

Here are my ideas (not sure if they are viable, however)
1. HDMI cable from my laptop directly to my tv? Is this possible? If this is I don't have a laptop that has an HDMI outlet. My Thinkpad has an extra pci slot on the side and I believe if I bought an addon video card then I can get an HDMI outlet this way? If so what card would I buy.

2. Buy some kind of wireless pci card and hook it up to my desktop to transfer to the TV. Is this possible?

3. The easiest thing I could think of is having some sort of portable Hard drive that I could directly plug into my X box or something like that and run the files from there.

Well if anyone could help me out I'd really appreciate it. Thanks :)

remaster them as DVD-Videos on to DVD-R or DVD+R media (check your DVD player manual for compatibility). Then no need to connect your PC at all.

If your tv has a network point, install serviio on your pc, use network to play movies, serviio transcodes to a playable format

Buy a media player eg WDTV

Just noticed, you have already posted this a couple of times before. Plus you sent me a private message.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.
