Today I composited a DPS Reality file containing video & Audio (already edited & in Sync). I transfered this file over with audio & Video cables into my own PC using an encoder/Compositor software. -in doing this I basically played the DPS Reality movie file as shown on my monitor and clicked record on my 2nd pc which picked up the video/audio in an AVI format (-again I was able to watch this all happen on the 2nd pc monitor). When finished, I then opened this file in my Win Media player to view but unfortunately/frustratingly I noticed that the audio is out of sync with the video. I then tried this movie file in Adobe Premier & noticed the same again, -the audio appears to have been stretched!!??
Does anyone know where I went wrong? or has anyone any advise which would be greatly appreciated!Thank you
Susan

During the transcribing process frames are invariably lost, once a single frame has been lost then you audio well be out by 1/25 second, these accumulate throughout the film, the synch gets worse as a film progresses and never better.
You need to try different software (video lan client used to work for me) and/or look for a setting that says something like "lock audio to visual" as this should then re-synch it

Thanks for the advise. I do alot of exporting of media files and so I may well invest in some better software. You say 'video Lan client' used to work for you. - is that by dell? would I be able to pick Video Lan Client software from a pc store? Mmm, I've never heard of this name.
Again, thank you for your time.
Susan
