hi,
I'm new to encoding and need some help. I'm currently using Megui to encode A/V but it keeps hanging my computer. I've followed the online Megui Walkthrough to the T!! and it keeps freezing my computer, mouse, keyboard, and ctl+alt+del do not work. I know my computer is up to par. The source is my DVD collection that I'm putting in storage. Why does it keep freezing at different points of completion each time? please help
I have: amd x2 4400+ 2gb corsair ram nothing extra running in the background & tons of space.

it tells me what to do... im using the megui wiki thing already which is pretty simple and straightfoward. I just want to know why my computer is unable to encode a/v without freezing, and requiring a hard reboot. The Doom9 forum requires me to wait 5 days before i can post, so anyone help?

Video encoding is very cpu intensive. Could be an overheating problem.
