NERO will work, or PINNACLE (they just came out with a version 10 which is pretty good). There are lots of others but those are the ones that I would recommend. They are simple to use and pretty fast.

Well, I have never tried but if you have an extra usb cable, plug the camera into a usb port and see if xp/pinnacle recognizes it. Short of that, it might be best to buy a 1394 card.

If your camera is model D101, D103 or D105 then it came with a USB connecting cable and a port on the camera to connect it to.

Consult the manual or download a copy of it at Samsung's Global Download Center site.
They also have software for the camera there if you don't have it. (Is the camera hot? Don't you have these things?)

Otherwise you will need to purchase and install a firewire card to the PC.

Bryan

I have the same problem pumapride77. I have a panasonic PV-GS31 dv. I have the usb cable, nero software, & hp dvd burner, but when I try to run it, it tells me 'no capture device detected'. I have asked several people that have much more computer savvy than me but no one seems to be able to help me.
