Subject: Video out to tv OS: xp media centerCPU/Ram: 2.80GHz PenM 1GBModel/Manufacturer: HP M7160N |
Comment: I have 224gb of TV on my pc and want to play it on a TV not the pc. There’s no video out. With better too much than not enough in mind & maybe video games. What is recommended. I thought PCI Express 6600, 7800 graphics card. What’s the difference between a video and graphics card? Do I use AGP, PCI or PCI express interface? What’s the difference? What memory, interface, clock speed, brand, etc. do I need? Thanks

Reply: (edit)"What’s the difference between a video and graphics card?" Nothing "Do I use AGP, PCI or PCI express interface?" What do you have? If you have AGP, get AGP. If you have PCI-Express get that. Do not get PCI unless you don't have AGP or PCI-Express. "What memory, interface, clock speed, brand, etc. do I need?" For displaying video it won't really matter as long as you get something relatively modern. The main thing is to get something that will be compatible with the hardware you already have. What kind of input do you have on your television? You will need a video card that has a compatible connection. Michael J
