I am trying to make a horror movie motage for an upcoming halloween party. What I need to do is cut clips from my horror movie dvd's, paste them together and write back to a dvd.

What is the best and least expensive software for this job?

Might look at Microsoft's movie maker for least expensive

Pinnacle studio 12 is good but unless you find it on sale it is too much for a one time use.

Keep an eye on Giveaway of the Day...

They offer a free program every day and video converters/editors pop up often.

skip, thanks for the great page. Just wondering, are these progs fully functional or are they just limited trials?

They are supposed to be fully functional...the ones I've seen are full versions. I haven't seen a cripple or time limited app yet.

When you click on the "Proceed to download page" button, you get to see system requirements and a crapload of comments about the software. It's not too hard to separate the bonehead comments from those who know what they're talking about.

These programs will also reappear from time to time; often as a later version. I check in every morning to see what's offered. The only caveat is that you need to install and register the offered software during that particular day.

Most are pretty small in Mb's for fast download times, the occasional spyware content (only found 1 instance) is quickly found by the reviewers and corrected, and several hundred reviews will give you an idea if you can use the program or if another is a better choice...just like your recommendation of showbiz 2 in #2 here.
