My wife does a lot of photoshop...her old Dell is giving out...building another workstation..

What do you guys recommend for a Video card???
No games, only graphics programs, Photoshop, Publisher, maybe some video later on...

Will probably build a duo-core Intel, 2 GB RAM, probably an Intel MB...

thanks any comments...
Steve

Hi Steve, well, there's no sense going for a $400 high-end gamer's performance card. You may be interested in taking a look at this:

For $100 that's a heck of a lot of performance, uses NVidia chip (which I prefer over ATI), 560 clock and 12 pipelines. Not bad for the price. Photoshop will fly on that card, and if your wife ever get into 3-dimensional rendering programs it has lots of power to do it.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;
Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime;
Then industry pollutes the water and kills all the fish.

Ranchhand...
I took your advice, got the card...building the computer now...Intel board, 4 Gb RAM, 37 Gb Raptor for OS, 150 Gb Raptor for data...all data synched to a 250 Gb Seagate every 6 hours...

Should have it finished over the weekend...

Thanx
