hi there. i've made a dvd image using adobe encore and i'm trying to burn it to a dvd using Nero. the problem is, its taking forever. it says that its burning at 8x but last night i started a burn and it took almost 12 hours to complete!

i'm using a brand new Liteon internal dvd write writer with lightscribe (which i recently bought specifically just for this dvd project). the buffer level on the drive never seems to go over 7%, but when i burn normal CDs the buffer level goes to 100% and the burn time is quite reasonable.

i have to admit, i am using a cheap brand dvd-r disk, but before i go out and buy a whole load of other high quality disks, is there anything i can do to improve the performance?

thanks

It does take 'forever' (it seems) to convert large video files to the DVD format. It's the conversion process and not the burning that takes so long.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
