The Toshiba PDR-M65 is over ten years old and the memory card type it uses (SmartMedia) is no longer manufactured, so when the card is no longer usable (and that will happen sooner or later) you won't be able to replace it. In other words, your camera will then be nothing more than a paper-weight.

However, if you want to transfer pictures to your computer you can use a card reader, then you won't need a driver for the camera. An example of a card reader which can read SmartMedia cards is here:

The PDR-M65 is not listed on either the UK or USA Samsung websites. They have evidently ended support for that model so a driver is not available, so the only option is to use a card reader as described above.

Personally I advise you to buy a new camera that you can buy new memory cards for. It will also take better quality pictures because digital camera technology has improved considerably since your Samsung model was made.

Many thanks for the quick response! I do have a much newer digital camera, but was trying to recycle this one by passing it on to the kids of a friend of mine. While getting it packed up, I noticed I still had pics on the SmartMedia card and was hoping to transfer them to my computer. I'll take your suggestion and try the card reader route.

Since I don't need another paperweight and the kids probably aren't going to want it either, any thoughts on an environmentally sound way to dispose of it? Or is it OK to just pitch in the trash?
