Comment:

if I have a job to move the video from MiniDV tapes to digital files in AVI format, then the removal process will be followed within one hour (for the SP format) or for one hour 30 minutes (for the LP format). If the process is quickened, whether it be done?

In general transfer of video and audio data is transfered in real time. Some transport may have the ability to transfer over firewire at a higher rate.

For wizard-fred : "In general transfer of video and audio data is transfered in real time. Some transport may have the ability to transfer over firewire at a higher rate."

My reply : I know what you mean. I use Adobe Premiere to move the video MiniDV to AVI files (from firewire). If the cassette has a duration of its one-hour video, the video capture process will be for one hour as well. If you said "Some transport may have the ability to transfer over firewire at a higher rate." , what is software that can capture the process of the video with a short time? How does it? Thank you for your guidance.

Regards,
Buddy

It would also need a hardware solution. The transport has to be able to read the data faster up to the speed of the interface.

If the camera (hardware) hasn't the ability you're out of luck.
