When I transfer pictures from my computer to a SD CARD for my camera they are not found. I use the jpg format, I've put them in the same folder that the camera creates but they don't show up. Is there a way to load them so they are found.

Same jpg format, I just don't get it,

thanks,
:)

The last time there was a question like this it turned out that the user was in fact creating SHORTCUTS to the pictures on the camera card instead of moving the actual photo over to the card.

Check and make sure you're actually copying a real photo over to the card.

Thanks,

I've copied actual pictures, I've tested them by opening them from the sd card, also by checking file size. Movies too. I even renamed them to match what the camera does, like, IMG_123.jpg, etc,

I also used the folder the camera created. Take a picture and it creates, "cannon 100" ..I add the photo's to that folder and it still doesn't work.

still thinking, there's probably software for this,

:)

Try copying a picture onto the SD card that was originally created by the camera (one that you haven't touched.)

Many cameras are very fussy about the exact format of the jpg file (e.g. they need to have certain EXIF info) and if you edit it on the PC, it loses that info and the camera no longer recognizes it.

You could try enabling the option (if your editing software has it) to retain all existing EXIF info.

Klint;

Thanks, that's a big lead. I went back to the original cannon card, copied to it, still didn't work but I have a few more variations to try on that card, like creating a folder with new pictures and then copying in to that......

back with the results,
:)
