Comment: This is just a hunch I'm trying. I have a Pinnacle capture card which also has rca inputs L,R,V and am wondering if I could tape a move from Cable, through my VCR onto my PC and then later burn it to a DVD. I have lots of Hard drive space (250 Gigs), and all the hardware it takes to burn a full length movie. The TV is in the living room and I'll be doing this in my PC room with a VCR and no TV hooked up to it. Do you think this is possible before I spend the time hooking all up? thanks Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Reply: (edit)Yes, but I don't think the quality will be that great. If I understand you correctly, your computer only has composite video inputs, no tv tuner. If that is the case, try to use your tv or VCR as a converter. That is, many VCRs will take cable tv input and display it on the tv via composite cables without actually having to tape the show and then replay it. -Ryan Adams http://members.cox.net/rtadams89/

Reply: (edit)You don't mention the model of the card, but the vcr outs (RCA) are analogue and the pinnacle RCA ins are also analogue so it should work. You should not need a tv hook up anyway... if all goes well, the tv program will come up on the pinnacle capture screen.

Reply: (edit)Thanks for the replies, the card came from the days when I wanted to record movies from my Sony Stereo 8MM cam, so I wondered if it would work with a vcr ouput, as I know I can record from my stereo VCR to my PC. Thanks for the great info guys! Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results....thanks

Reply: (edit)I have done it using a VCR to my digital to analog convertern (yours is built into the card). It works fine. The quality is not better than the original VCR tape output. Bryan
