I have bought a second hand Tamarack Artiscan 2400FS slide scanner. I connected it to the USB socket and installed the software from the Documan301.zip file I downloaded from DriverGuide. All software seemed to install without any apparent problems, but when I pressed the scan button it told me there was no scanner found. The scanner is plugged in and switched on, and the software is installed, yet Documan sees no scanner. I uninstalled the USB driver and then reinstalled the scanner with it's supplied parallel connector instead... but there is no improvement, the system still sees no scanner. That's after restarting the computer several times. I have unistalled and reistalled but no change. The seller assured me the scanner was working. What may be the problem?

For any USB device to work, you have to install the software first. During the software installation process, you will be prompted to connect the device to USB port. Do not use USB hub.
OK XpUser thanks for your input. I've been doing a bit more experimenting with it and I now suspect there is a conflict between the slide scanner and my flatbed scanner.
