I've been editing on the same PC based AVID for a couple of years now and suddenly I've started to get synch problems when I play back after the computer has been on for a while (12 hours or so)... I've not added any new software and the computer isn't connected to the internet ... any ideas anyone?

Alan

Check your temperatures. They tend to creep up when a system is pushed hard for hours. Make sure the power supply fan is operating at full speed and you have good airflow through the supply. Enter the Bios setup progtam to check the temps, or you could download a program like speedfan to do it.

To see if it is a temperature problem you could remove a panel (it might void the warrany) and have a fan blow in it.
