s-video problem

Hi:

I recently purchased a laptop with an s-video connection and just for a bit of fun, I decided to see if I could view some mpegs of my family holiday on my tv without burning them to dvd.

I have successfully cloned the desktop to my tv and everything appears perfectly apart from when a play the mpeg in my players e.g. media player and powerdvd all that appears on my tv is a small black square while it plays perfectly on my laptop. Why is this when everything else is displayed perfectly, is there a solution to my apparent stupidity?

Haven't got Power DVD running on this machine, but WinDVD has various settings about resolution for a TV display - see if you have anything like this, and try changing some settings.

You need to disable overlays in your display properties.

Most palyers will not play movies on a tv when the tv is set as SECONDARY DISPLAY. You must set the tv as the PRIMARY DISPLAY.

I sorted my problem out. I have S-video cable connected on TV and after disabling the Overlay settings at VGA adapter for he secondary display I got the picture on TV.
The only one thing is that I can't setup the contrast and zoom on TV but it is not that important.
