Stream PC live video to TV over network?

March 5, 2011 at 17:08:07
Specs: Windows 7, 4-core/6GB
I have a Win7 Media centre - can I stream live TV to my TV via the network? How do I convert the TV signal to the network? My Toshiba TV has a network connection but assumes that a file will be sent to it. Is it impossible to do this?

You post is rambling

If you want streamed TV on your TV, The Toshiba TV should come with a Manual stating what can be viewed from Computer to TV.

If you want TV Programs from TV thru your network then it is a no go....

Sorry not to be clear - I guess I didn't really know how to phrase the question.

Here goes again.

The Toshiba TV has a network plug and can display files from hard drives on the home network (which is connected to a Windows 7 Home Media Centre computer).

My question is, which I think you have said NO to,

can I display the images that I see on my computer for example 'streamed from say a sports channel over the web'

on my Toshiba TV by somehow converting the images to a network stream that the TV can see.

I can connect a VGA cable and copy my computer monitor - like a projector - but can I use WMC to output to the TV as a new device over the network - like printing?

Thank you for your patience. I think a common question is for many who have an LCD TV and a small lap top that is connected to the Internet - Can I view my LapTop streamed TV on my home TV without using a VGA cable? Thanks.

It is down to Toshiba how they have implemented the DNLA Standard, this is an issue for the TV Manufacturer, not your Computer/Hardware par-se:

I found this and they offer a Trial Version:
