I had a hard drive crash and I have lost my software (ImageMixer) that came with my Sony DVD Video Camera Recorder. Can someone recommend some other software that will allow me to take DVD movies off of my Sony DVD Video Camera Recorder and onto my computer? Or am I stuck with having to re-purchase the software from Sony? Also, once I get the video onto my computer is the Image Mixer software any good? Should I look for other software to edit with? Any help is appreciated.

I have not used Image Mixer so I can't say. Besides Movie Maker, I have Nero and Adobe Premier Elements which are both good, and there are many others depending upon your needs.
You can get a lot of information here about video formats, software, etc:

If you registered your software with Sony and have the key number registered to your name, I would think they would send you another disk. Doesn't cost anything except a postage stamp to ask.
FYI, Nero has a reputation for very poor and glitchy capture and DVD authoring, including my own experience with it. As strictly a burning utility it can't be surpassed.

Hi All,
I have a sony camcorder DCR-DVD201. It records the media to a DVD-R/RW disc.
The product was shipped along with its USB driver and Imagemixer Version1.5 for Sony DVD software.
Unfortunately i lost the s/w CD and adding to it my harddisk also crashed.
Can some please let me know where i can get this software from?Any pointer's on this would be helpful.
Thanks
Anand Vardhan
