Comment: Hi, I was looking for a recommendation of freeware for 2 things. 1, I want to burn data dvds. I need software to put data files like .avi or .mp3 or mpg on dvd. (does not meed to be playable in dvd player just a comp with a dvd drive) 2, i need software to covert mpeg, mpg and avi to .vob. I need to covert to vob, NOT mpeg. If any one knows of any good freeware that can do this I would greatly appreciate it. i am willing to use a few different programs to accomplish this as long as there free. Thanks, Cody

Reply: (edit)You can have a look at www.videohelp.com Click on TOOLS in the left panel. They have loads of video sftware ther... some of it freeware. Although I must tell you that if you want something half way decent you will most likely have to pay a wee bit. I am pretty heavy into video editing and even some of the $500 and $600 software that I have, has a few bugs and flaws.

Reply: (edit)you`d better use video-to-dvd converters (for ex. by geovid.com) `cause they support almost all video file formats & usually offer free trials!!
