Many programs are guilty of taking over...next time you install any photo software try the advanced install...then you can uncheck all the files the new program wants to take over.

Now here's how to change your pics:
1- open My Documents
2- click tools/folder options
3- click file types
4- scroll down to jpeg or whatever typ of pics you have
5- click on change....then choose open with windows/fax viewer
6- also put a checkmark so it will be the default setting for it.

If you see any other photoplus files in the list, change them the same way.

PLEASE post back to let us know how you make out with this problem...it would be appreciated

PS: I just had nero 7 essentials do the same thing....that piece of trash tried taking over EVERYTHING, pics, videos,etc.. That's when I found out to do the advanced install....

Thanks for that. I did what you said and can now read most of the pictures. It seems Photo Plus has actually changed the file type, of a few, to its own format. Thats a pity because I haven't got a programe that can read them.,but I will have to live with that. I don't want to install it again and risk it doing the same to more pictures

Thanks for posting back and glad I could help.

If you do reinstall it, make sure to do the advanced install so you can make sure serif doesn't take over your PC settings.
