I have used most major brands from Sandisk to PNY to Lexar and they are pretty equal in performance and all have lasted for a long time. I have a 2gb Lexar that I use for My canon, great card.

Brand name is one thing. Speed is another! Some cards are excellent quality (and low priced), but slow. Be sure to get one fast enough for your needs. I shoot action and use SanDisk's Extreme III cards. Standard cards take too long writing data.
