Comment: I'm trying to help out a neighbor. We lost his child's photos and now we need to capture some from his camcorder. I can input the camcorder onto the hard drive with no problem, using Power Producer, but what we need is the ability to save the frozen picture after we pause the hard drive. I thought Snagit would do it, but it doesn't. It only gives me a black screen. Any ideas how to solve this problem ? I wonder what'll happen if I do this ?

Reply: (edit)Windows Movie Maker will capture frames. Look for the camera icon on the preview screen on the far right. Be aware that the quality will not be very good though, not like what you'd get from a still camera.

Reply: (edit)I have not used Power producer, but I would be suprised if it did't have a still frame capture option. I use Pinnacle Studio and Uleads Video Studio and both allow capture of stills. I would suggest looking around Power Producer or searching it's help file for 'still capture' or maybe 'slideshow'. Mark Spencer MyComputerTec

Reply: (edit)Thanks for all the suggestions. Turns out that his wife finally found the correct discs and solved the problem. Had she not done so, Windows Movie Maker would have been a good back up. Appreciate the help, folks. I wonder what'll happen if I do this ?
