I've got a Samsung SCD86. It's not actually mine, it's my sisters, I'm just using it for a small project. I've installed all the software and drivers from the Samsung Download Center, and they dont work.
When I try to capture the video using Windows Movie Maker, it gives me an error message saying the device isn't responding and to close any other program using the device and try again. There are no other programs using the camcorder.
I have noticed that it is only recognizing the sound input from the camcorder and not the video. There is no video input listed. Movie Maker recognizes that the Samsung SCD86 is connected, it just wont capture the video.
And, as I stated earlier, the software given from Samsungs Download Center doesnt work. It always fails to initialize the capture device.
Anyone know what I can do (other than buy a Sony, because they seem to suck less)?

I don't know if this is an option but does the software work on another computer? And your sure this camera is supported by movie maker.

I've tried it on another computer, and the software didnt work there either. I think their software just blows. Everything I've ever had of Samsung has given me problems.
