So I had some pictures... I plugged the camera into my computer which causes iphoto to open. iphoto opened and I imported the pictures. My iphoto crashes a lot, but it appeared to get through the pictures. Cool. It was on automatic "erase camera contents after importing" thing. It got through the importing but never said it was done - like truly done. then it crashed and I forced quit it after quite some time waiting. Then... put iphoto back up and ... no pictures. But no images now on my camera either! :( How can I get these back?

I am clearly a computer/camera luddhite, but I would love some direction.
