Recovering Deleted Files from an SD Card

July 20, 2011 at 06:11:59
Specs: Vista Pro MCE, 2.6/2G
I accidentally deleted a number of files from my camcorder. The camcorder uses as SD card. I used Recuva to find the files and back them up to my pc. There are 59 different .MOV files and I can only get about 20 to play (after converting them to WMV). With all of them iTunes and Quicktime either freeze, say it's the wrong file type with every file or "play" a black screen with no audio.

Is there a way to recover these files? Or are they corrupted beyond recovery?

They will probably be corrupted and unusable. Whilst recovery software can recover deleted files, they won't necessarily all be okay as some of them won't be intact.
They will probably have been partially overwritten by other data before you recovered them. Such files are completely lost forever.

recuva is free and will find and let you recover whatever files are found...NO NEED to buy software for recovery.

You shouldn't spam programs that you HAVE to pay for to recover pics.
