Dear all,

I have a Vivitar Vivicam 35 which I have managed to find a driver for after a long and painstaking search.

Unfortunately the camera is installed as a "USB Digital Still Camera" and does not present itself as a disk on my computer, thus I cannot use a recovery software to get my pictures back.

It has it's own software for transferring photos.

How can I restore data from this type of device?

i have 5 different digital cameras and i havent installed any software for any of them. all i do is connect it thru the usb cable included with them, turn it on, and then open My Computer and open the corresponding drive it associates with the camera. (i have many drives installed so for me it is usually drive(s) j-m) i would try to uninstall the software for it and try to just hook it up thru the usb port and see if it is recognized. im not sure if that will work with Windows 200, but it does on XP.

i also wanted to say that i do have a .pdf manual for that camera. it tells you how to retrieve your pics from the cmaera with the included software. if you need it, send me a PM and i will send you a link you can use to download it.

Yes, I had same problem.U can read above. If u have norton antivirus, disable "auto protect" feature first, then connect cable to usb then I hope u will see the cam as a removable drive. If u dont have Norton, than search for a firewall or similiar protection as the reason.
