When I capture video from camcorder into Pinnacle to edit, the playback within Pinnacle is "liney" whenever the camera has moved, making editing unclear.Video playback on camcorder is good quality, and burnt dvds are fine. Ideas? Thanks

Not sure about Pinnacle, but in other Video apps there are different settings for capturing video. They can make a huge difference on the quality of the captured video. You should have an indication of dropped frames. You want to get 0.

Sounds like a loose connection between the camera and PC.

I would suggest to not move the camera during the capturing process or perhaps, purchase a new cable unless it is the conenctor on the camera or PC.

Thanks both, but the captured video burns perfectly,so I would assume no problem with the actual capture (highest quality settings used anyway) It just seems to be how Pinnacle displays it.

the problem you described is exactly the same as I encounter when using the highest capture settings in Nero Vision. I ended up with a lot of dropped frames - even though I have a high end machine. However, based upon how video is rendered and how it would need to be compressed for DVD quality it may be that the encoding process "smooths out" those artifacts. I would still be interested to know if you are getting dropped frames when capturing to see if it is the same as I am experiencing.

When you say "liney" do you mean it looks like every other scan line is out of sync? If so, this is an interlace issue.
