Thought it may be in the wrong forum as it is unanswered, can someone please tell me what technology the popup people on these two web sites are, I am assuming it is maybe a transparent flash movie. I love this technology and want to use, create the movies, it is so cool to have a person walk right on your site:

Even if u can direct me to reading, what type of technology it is, I would be most grateful.

Thanks

... must've been removed as a duplicate post - actually, more of a soliloquy, as the subsequent responses consisted of an ongoing monologue by the OP

I'm not one of those who think Bill Gates is the devil. I simply suspect that if Microsoft ever met up with the devil, it wouldn't need an interpreter

Let me try this again, I am somewhat above entry level in video includeing some popular video editors and convertors and convert and use videos all the time; however, when I saw the two sites mentioned in the video that went unanswered and was deleted after two days I was amazed at just the "person" in the video. I personally own Ulead and have a Win TV PVR, have dabbled in movie maker, etc. etc., flash movie making and photoshop entry to mid level.

I am not asking u to do this for me as I am pretty good at researching; however, my guess is it is a flash gif with some kind of transparency. I want to learn this technology as I have "on my own" with other things, including moving panoramas.

I am somewhat versed in javascript "entry level" and html code all self taught and convert movies in and out of several formats using several different programs, if not multiple combined!

I am not being lazy, just asking what the technology is so that I can do more reading on same. I will do the research; however, need the pointers or consulting of friends who are above entry level in same that will guide me.

Juding from this site:

http://www.onsitevideos.com/index.p...

At the bottom there is a "play video button" and from the looks of it may be a pop up flash gif; however, I am interested in the realization look of same, this web site has it someonetimes, our news channel 4 link, sometimes it pops up and sometimes it doesn't on the news site below!!!

http://www.wwltv.com/

I am asking nicely for this information, and would like to learn more about it, my next step would be to talk with the editing/journalism editing and media web page people of wwl tv channel 4 in New Orleans, which I am about 50 miles from in Reserve, La.

Any help would be appreciated!

Work I have done:

File lodge is not working on this one so all my graphics are not there ----
http://personalpages.bellsouth.net/...

Just want to know what kind of "video", embedded flash, transparent, gif, etc.

Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is no such thing as a flash gif. Gif images and flash files are two entirely different things.

As to your question, right-clicking on the "person" would have very quickly indicated the technology used/ It's flash. I would assume you need to video the person in front of a solid color background and then convert that color to transparent when creating the flash file.

Thanks, I meant, photoshop .gif, was tired/moving my household/working and was doing the holiday thing when I typed this.
I use Photoshop all the time to convert several images to the .gif movies, I love it.

I know entry level Flash MX, not a lot, gave up on it the first time as I did photoshopy, then bought the Dummy Flash and PS cds and delved in the tutorial sites: Good Tutorials and Tutorial Outpost which both are excellent Flash and PS sites.

Thanks very much, I think this is such an interesting feature and unique, not a lot of sites with it, and it seems so real.

Sorry for the late post; however, due to the move, no computer at home yet set up, so I am typing this from my work computer.

Happy New year!!!

Thank u so very much.

I was able to do this via masking technique in flash and transparency.

Just need the pop up issues solved now so that the graphic appears even more real, working on this.

Make a new document and import your movie, make a new layer, convert that layer to key frames and on this layer do your masking and then right click and select "mask" to convert to a masked layer and your object is msked. Your background will be gone.

Hope this helps anyone who is interested in the same thing
