Play TiVo file on computer
I bought a TiVo and can download from there to my computer by way of wireless networking.
I downloaded an hour show to see how it works but Windows Media Player say it needs a MPEG2 codec.
"Codec is missing
Windows Media Player cannot play the file (or cannot play either the audio
or video portion of the file) because the MPEG-2 audio decoder codec is not installed on your computer. The missing codec might be available to download from the Internet. To search for the MPEG-2 audio decoder codec, go to the WMPlugins.com Web site
<http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=66220&codec={E06D802B-DB46-11CF-B4D1-00805F6CBBEA}>."I downloaded and installed AC3 decoder from the Internet but don't know what to do from there. When I open AC3 it's looking for a Dolby AC3 (AC3, VOB) file.
The extension on the Tivo downloaded file is "TiVo".

Try a Google search for "tivo codec". Maybe you'll get lucky.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
Sorry, I do not check for private messages
