If your TV has that capability then you'll probably need to connect a card reader to its USB port. Then check the TV's manual or the samsung support page for it and see how to view the pictures. This may help:

The person there was wanting to play movie files from a USB hard drive and was having problems. JPG files are more basic and much simplier to handle so I'm thinking you won't have much of a problem once you get the reader and check the instructions.

Edit Hey, when you said 'memory stick' I was thinking an SD card from a phone or digital camera. But if it's a thumb drive/flash drive that's made to connect directly to the USB port then you won't need a card reader.

The Samsung TV we have won't play a slideshow, though it will display individual photos and you can scroll through them. If you need to create a slideshow then you should be able to do it using iphoto on your mac but you need to check that you TV can then play back the Quicktime movies created.
