play a memory stick on your samsung tv

April 1, 2011 at 12:42:11
Specs: Windows XP

I recently copied a file from my computer on to a USB memory stick. It was a vacation photo's file featuring still pictures of our vacation. I plugged the memory stick into my Samsung 58" TV model #PN50B550.and set it to play the slide show of photo's and it worked perfectly.

My next experiment was to copy a short digital vacation video file on to a memory stick which I plugged into the same TV but unfortunately it would not appear on the TV screen.

I don't think Samsung supports wmv files. But check samsung support or user manual.

You can always convert the file. Use something like Format Factory.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.

Clive
I think you are correct. The Samsung TV that I have does not recognize wmv files. It looks like I will have to put all my video footage on to DVDs.

Just copy movie files to a hard drive.

mpeg2 avi xvid will all probably work, but you need to check before spending hours converting movies.

A thank you would be nice, if I have helped.
