The chances are extremely small. When you do a HP restore, it effectively formats the partition and then reinstalls the software. Any use of the system further decreases the chances of recovery.
If the pictures are extremely valuable you could try one or more of the below data recovery programs.
I would suggest removing the hard drive and attaching it as a slave to another system to attempt the recover.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!

The best software I know to retrieve your Pics even after a crash is scavenger. The lady had re-installed XP and most of her programs. I found 5,000 pics that she had on there. The nice thing is, scavenger gives the exact names of the file unlike most of the other progs.
