I just downloaded the Photoshop trial version, but I can't use save. Is there way for me to be able to save with the trial version? (Nothing illegal please!)
If there isn't, can someone reccommend some software that has many of photoshop's functions but is available for free download?

Missy, I think you might have better luck getting a helpful response if you state which functions you need.

There might even be a free application to do what you want.

I need to do things like blur one picture into another, add text, make the foreground translucent, use the 'magic wand' feature to use only parts of a picture and delete the rest, the smudge feature, and the painting feature.

The chances of finding something with those options free, or with a 'no restriction' trial is probably pretty small. But good luck!

Photoshop Elements will give all the options you need. You don't need the latest 5.0 version, even 1.0 or 2.0 will work. Look on ebay, you should be able to find the older versions pretty cheap.

in fact ask family and friends, they may have Photo Elements that came in a bundle with a DVD writer or whatever. Mine came with an HP external DVD writer. You can use that too.

Hopefully my advice will help you...Please post back with your results as it will help others.

You may also want to look at GimpShop. It's free and has most of Photoshops functions.

Don't squat with your spurs on!
