I found out the other day about Adobe Photoshop CS3's excellent compression engine to compress photos and I am using it for my website. So far, I have been able to bring down JPEG images from 2 megabytes down to 4-7 kilobytes after using the save for web option and resizing. the problem comes to me when I open GIF's, though. When I open them up, they are really distorted and when I save them on optimal settings, or while leaving them alone, the saved file is really distorted. These are GIF screen shots of programs and have text from the programs in them. I have tried converting them to JPEG's and then compressing them, but the compressed file is larger than the original GIF. Any ideas or help, or a better or another way of compressing GIF's? Thanks for any help you may have!
