Specs: Windows XP
Recently after I edit a .jpg photo in PhotoImpact, either changing the size of the photo or getting rid of unwanted lines or flaws & then try to save it to reflect the changes I've made in the photo, oftentimes it is saved with the file extension of .#$#. I then cannot open it unless I change the file extension back to .jpg. Does anyone know what causes this? Is there a way to prevent this from happening?

I only recently downloaded Picasa and have not as yet become familiar with that program but will do so after reading your advice.
