Specs: Windows XP
when trying to download pictures to my laptop I get an error code, OX80010108 and can not seem to get any help either from best buy or dell support who both want to charge me to fix a known corrupted software, however windows is aware of it and can't come up with a fix.
Sounds a fishy to me

You need to provide more details if you want help. What are you trying to download from, camera, flash drive, etc? What "known corrupted software" are you talking about?
I'm not sure why you think this sounds fishy, problems arise like this all the time. Why do you think there is tech support and computer forums like this one?

the problem is while trying to download pictured from a digital camera using a sd card I get the error code noted. the software that I am told by dell and best buy is live photo gallery and both admitted that the software is corrupted and windows forum is admitting to a problem. the part about being fishy is why is this product not fixed free instead of wanting to charge for a known problem. why are they continuing to sell and release a product that does not work????

Ok try this instead. Plug your camera into your computer and go into Windows Explorer. Does you camera show up there? If so you can just copy and paste your pictures to a folder on your hard drive. If the camera doesn't show up, then you can get a card reader and plug your sd card into that. No need to buy third party software.

Not the way the system is suppose to work. The fact is that Microsoft, Dell and Best Buy knowingly allow software that is corrupt to be marketed.
