I recently purchased a SanDisk 8gb Ultra II SD memory card for my Canon Xsi DSLR. I formatted the card in the camera per the instructions. After taking some pictures, I tried to use the onboard Sony Card Reader in my PC to view/transfer the pictures to my PC but it will not recognize the card. It does recognize my older SanDisk 512mb card though. Any suggestions appreciated.
could it possibly be because the PC doesn't recognize cards over 4GB? Some older PC's recognize up to 4GB. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
The 8GB is a high-capacity SD card. Did you ever use a 720k floppy drive? If you did you will recall that had no problem reading the discs until the high-capacity 1.44mb discs hit the market. What did we have to do to read the high-capacity discs? We had to upgrade the 720k floppy drive with 1.44mb drive. The same thing goes with the SD card reader in your PC. i_Xp/VistaUser
