I have a media center edition and can watch tv on my pc, but cannot watch movies from my pc to tv due to the fact that I do not have an s-video or vga outlet. I do however have an AVI. How would you suggest to connect

What video outputs does you pc have?
What video inputs does you tv have?
I think you have a DVI output not an AVI?
If you only have what you describe you will need some sort of converter.

No It's an AV in. The only other connections I have are CATV in which allows media center to work in conjunction with the television and one connection for an antennae. There are also the traditional red, white and yellow cable connections. Other than that, nothing more. I thought the AV in was an s-video port; however, upon closer inspection found it was an AV in port.

Then you don't have any output ports.
The best choice is to get a video card with
more outputs. A possibility is a VGA
splitter.

Thanks. I thought it wasn't a possibility with what I had; however, I thought I might be overlooking something. I appreciate your assistance in this matter.

By using your favorite Internet search tool and searching for vendors which offer "composite to S-video" adapters, find a vendor your comfortable with who offers a product and price you like and make the purchase. Or, just wait for a new government program or agency to be created to take care of everything for you...
