Solved Old printer not compatible with XP?

Specs: Video playing
I have a professional Kodak 8500 Digital Photo Printer which I can't seem to be able to install the software on my computer, which is Windows XP. Is that maybe cause the printer isn't compatible with XP? The printer is a fantastic printer but it is maybe 10-13 years old now I would say. Nothing wrong with the printer, it's like new? Any ideas on what I could do to be able to utilize this printer again?

Have you tried to install the driver for your printer for Windows XP, which can be found at the Kodak homepage?

Yes I did. But nothing seems to work. I have worked on thus for maybe 8+ hours and I had my husband put it in the attic. I had it. Thanks

It looks like that printer has both a parallel (IEEE 1284) and USB ports. If you're using the parallel port make sure it configured properly. You may need to check in device manager and make sure there's no hardware problem with the ports.

Make sure you follow instructions for installing the drivers.

That's if you bring it back down from the attic.
