When I try to open a photo folder, some times it opens but after few seconds system freezes, sometimes folder will open but when I try to select/copy photos,it freezes. How I can copy those photos.
More information required: Which hard drive is that folder on (eg system drive, secondary drive, external drive)?
Is it only that one folder that causes the problem of freezing when opened?
Is it only a particular photo folder that does this? If so let us know its name as it could be a name that is excluded in Windows. I have sometimes has issues where the files have had very long file names.
If there are sub-folders then work through them and see if it is one of these that causes the issue.

It is on desktop, and only this folder is causing the problem of freezing. This folder name is also not very long,it is only 6 character name
What is the folder name? Can you copy the folder to My Documents to see if it will work from there.

KDWINN, tap f8 on boot up and then select Safe Mode. Let me know if you can open the folder and copy from there. Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions 7 Golds
If the immediate requirement is to get the photo's safely off, and if Safe Mode does the same, you could boot to a Live Linux CD (such as Puppy Linux or Knoppix). That way you could pop them onto a flash drive for now. After that you can delete the folder in Linux too provided it is not a system folder. Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
I copied photo folder from desktop to my documents, not able to copy from there.
I tried other way too, changed it to safe mode and then tried copying, but didn't work.Whenever I click on that folder, it will open but when try to select or copy, it shows that it is processing but few seconds later system freezes.
I don't know how I can recover those photos.
